Glutton for Punishment

Every so often I get a movie from Netflix that I know is going to be horrible. The movie got bad reviews, people trash it on the internet, and the movie tanks at the box office. I know all of this going into it, but for some reason I become attracted to some element of the movie and I have to see it.

"10,000 BC" is one such movie.

After I get home from work today, "10,000 BC" should be sitting in my mailbox waiting for me. Back in college I majored in Anthropology, so this pre-historic period movie genre really speaks to me. Never mind that it is totally inaccurate and full of ridiculous goofs. I'm already grinding my teeth at the thought of mammoths helping build Egyptian architecture.

So why do I bother with it? I'm hoping for some pulp-ish action and good special effects. I'm planning on getting a pulp game going and having some inspirational material for a lost dinosaur land will be nice. Technically "10,000 BC" isn't a dinosaur movie, but I'm betting a couple dinosaurs will show up right next to neanderthals. That should be right about the same time that a vein bursts in my forehead from trying to wrap my head around that little anachronism.
